1986:  FOREST COURT RESIDENCE SOLD

• In 1986, Paul filed a petition to approve the sale of the Forest Court home. Jean filed an objection, but the court ordered the sale. 

• Janet’s share of the proceeds were placed in trust for her.

1995:  LEGAL DEATH DECLARATION

• On Dec. 14, 1994, Jean & Leo Gregoire filed an action in Placer County Superior Court to have Janet declared legally dead. Paul, Kristi, and John opposed the petition, citing the family's belief that Janet was still alive. 

• On January 10, 1995, the Gregoire’s petition was granted. Although Paul believed that the Gregoires had a life insurance policy on Janet, the question was not pursued by law enforcement, and could never be proven. 

• Janet’s share of the house proceeds were placed in a trust for Kristi and John, and used to pay for college.
